Fellow zoe owners,
We use our Zoe up in the kalamunda hills pretty regularly, which means we use a lot of sustained Regen. I have noticed Max Regen WA fallen from around 43kw down to around 24kw. This is even with a relatively flat battery.
Has anyone else seen anything similar?
What's the max Regen you are able to get?
I am noticing brake dust accumulating on the front wheels, which I would not expect in an electric car

Re: Zoe Regen getting weaker
Our regen still gets up to 43kw. Even when 100%, we still get 22kW+ presumably because of the built-in headroom.
Our SOH dropped from 101% to 100% in the first 5,000kms.
Regds,
Dave

Pretty warm in Sydney too. Our "mileage" did drop somewhat when it was 40+ outdoors but fully in line with 1-2kw going into the aircon and lots of stop-start driving.
Heat could definitely affect regen in that charging amps would be reduced when the battery is hot. But perhaps antiscab has looked at that? CanZE should be useful in checking if the battery is too hot when regen drops.
A little off-topic but a few months ago, we drove from sea level, up to 1050metres, down to 700metres, back up to 1100metres and back to 700metres (our destination). Speed was a lot of 100km/hr mixed with 80/60. This was up the Blue Mountains (Bells line of road) and then back down again. We used 41kwhrs to go 258km uphill. Then return (nett downhill) we did 280kms with 75kms estimated range remaining (no charging stops). Max regen was always up to 43kw. Outside air temp averaged 28deg so aircon was doing some work. I was ecstatic about the above performance.
Sorry, a little off topic but the regen was excellent the whole time and I have not yet seen any brake dust.
Cheers,
Dave

Re: Zoe Regen getting weaker
Antiscab, is the regen weaker all the time or just after sustained downhill on very hot days?
Are you still getting the same range out of a charge?
IS your SOH still around 100%?

Dave

Re: Zoe Regen getting weaker
Hi All,
Happy to report the Battery can do 43kw regen, I just had to press the brake harder.
The actual problem looks to be the brake pressure that corresponds to 43kw Regen is getting higher, so likely a calibration issue.
