Frunk/Froot for Kona

This ‘frunk’ or ‘froot’ almost fits too well to be coincidence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kurEcjkVBk
You can skip the first half of the video - it is just fitting a gas lift strut thingy to the bonnet. See how the moulded charge cable and accessory tray just neatly fits under the bonnet.

I suspect that expanded polystyrene might not hold up well bouncing on the 4 supports of the original bit of plastic ‘shield’. However, it looks like a better made box of useful volume would be designed to mount in the same place and retain the same ventilation clearance as that bit of plastic. Here someone has had just that thought with a less neat but probably more robust variation: https://www.goingelectric.de/forum/view ... 9&start=70 (scroll down to pictures)

And a variation: or https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anz ... 5-223-5875

On a trip with the back full of luggage, it could be handy to have more boot space and to not have the charge cord buried under luggage. Accessible next to the charge port seems a good place for a kit of extension lead plus 32A adjustable portable EVSE plus various adaptors to live permanently.

Crickey! I’ve been looking to moulding the rear to improve storage and was looking at getting thermal camera to test temperature of controller for frunk potential. We are all mad! Kewl to see. Mmmm .... inspiration!

With unreasonable effectiveness! ;)

Perhaps the space saver spare wheel that comes with the petrol Kona will then fit in the rear.

They don't. Some new Kona ICE models now have pump and goo as well.

I'm not surprised... For having spent a few months in India, many k's on the road including a head-on collision with a truck in a taxi... Any car in India should come with a spare.
A spare car that is
