It worked!
Has anyone figured out how to disable the annoying startup screen and go straight to the map without pressing OK?

No, however this device gets around the annoyance of the MMCS locking up while you are driving so passengers can't program the destination etc. I gather its about $100 (seems a bit steep for a simple switch and connectors?)Anyone interested in a group buy to try to get the price down?

Or buy one and reverse-engineer & group-build Image

Or maybe there's already someone amongst us who's sufficiently can-savvy to be able to design/build an equivalent from scratch?

I think its even simpler than that, it looks like this device just turns on and off the data feed(s) to trick the MMCS into thinking it is stationary. The hardest part would be getting compatible connectors.
