2000 sales in Oz, 20K in the UK, 10 x the sales with about double the population.

One reason could be that average car trip distances in the UK are likely much shorter than here in Oz, but that's just speculation on my part. That said, when I lived there in the 80's, pommy friends were aghast that we drove from Portsmouth to mid-Wales and back for a long weekend away (about 300km each way). Could it be that because of our wide open spaces we're just more frightened of running out of juice?

Probably more scope for longer trips in the UK because population is so concentrated in Australia. If you live in a major city probably most people are either in EV range or too far to drive. In the UK there could be several major cities in 300km range. I think there is quite a good network of charging stations there though, which the population density helps with.
Probably more about incentives though, like congestion charge exemptions in London.

More likely to be the 5 grand subsidy and favourable tax treatment as well as no congestion charge.

Some places actually are encouraging EV's.....

But hey, we are very "innovative", as they keep telling us.

Yep, the 3 biggest countries for PHEV sales are Japan, Netherlands and UK. The latter 2 have BIG incentives which make the PHEV cheaper than ICE for some consumers.

Intrigued there have been 2000 sales in Oz, last I heard it was meant to be about 950 in late 2015, so someone has the wrong figures....

USA release is meant to finally be in 6months or so, will be interesting to see how it sells over there.

I'm not worried.
1. The hacker has to be within wifi range of you while you are actually using the Mitsu App.
2. They can only disable the alarm and run the heater, they still need to physically break into the PHEV as they can't remotely unlock it.
3. They can't drive the PHEV away due to the immobiliser.

ie Great publicity for PenTestPartners, but not much else!
