Want to buy - reliable used EV $10k to $16k

Well the CRX suffered another ignition problem and left Kat stranded. $300 worth of towtruck later we're home, but she's refused to drive it ever again. Even if I find the source of the problem and fix it, 99.9% reliable is not reliable enough.

So we're in the market for a used EV, preferably a Leaf or iMiEV with about 100 km range. At least if we get a used Leaf or something I can start pulling the CRX apart and begin the conversion process.

Willing to spend up to $16k, depending on condition. I'd pay $8-10k for an iMiEV with 80 km range, and maybe $12k-$16k for a Leaf in similar shape.

In Perth, but bringing a used car from over east is OK too, within reason.

I'm hoping to have our i-MiEV on the market in a week or so. Parts supposedly on the way from Sydney. It has been 100% reliable except when it broke down.

I'm hoping to have the CRX back on the road by the weekend. But Kat's mind is made up...

Similar to my situation with the i-MiEV, I'd like to keep it once it is repaired, but my wife already bought a (non EV) replacement, and I prefer bicycle or motorbike for most things within i-MiEV range.
