Optima Yellow Top D31A

Post by drowe67 »

Hi,

I have 12 Optima D31A Yellow Tops for sale. They have seen 6 months daily use in my EV, and still meet the cold cranking (1100A) and reserve capacity (155 minute) specifications. The C/20 rating is 75AH but in practice in my EV the capacities are in the 40AH range (my EV uses about 45A @ 60 km/hr). I would not recommend them for EV usage due to the low capacity but they are still fine for ICE starting and other deep cycle applications at lower currents.

I think the typical use of these batteries are starting in cars with high current auxiliary loads like doof-doof sound systems.

My reason for sale is I wish to put some higher capacity batteries in my EV and there is no way I will get another EV expense past my patient wife without recovering some costs :-)

They cost around $450 new, my price is $170 each.

I am located in Adelaide. They weight 27kg each so delivery interstate may be problematic but I am open to suggestions.

Thanks,

David

Hello David,

Now it's August, have you any D31s left?

I'm in Melbourne, so there's the problematic problem to negotiate...

Martin.

Hello David,

Were any of your buyers from interstate?

I've had good and bad experiences with couriers, batteries and borders.

If you have a method that worked to get batteries to Melbourne, I'd be interested.

Martin.

All sales were local, some interest on ebay from interstate but no one could work out a way of shipping them.

Hello again,

On the off chance those 3 are still clogging up valuable room in your garage, I think I have a possible freight method...

(If you have any optimas left that is)

Let me know anyway,

Thanks.
