Caught speeding with EV

Post by Goombi » Mon, 08 Dec 2008, 15:49

Having a huge write up in South east Qls's Newspaper on Saturday last Two pages all about the Conversion etc. Took the EV to the local narket
And on the way got caught exeeding the speed limit... Fined $150...

Anyway, the market went well and i was the most popular stall there. have given out over 50 pamphlets. Had a very exciting time so much interest... I have offered to demo. and show the EV to High schools with the assistance of science teachers..Get them interested young lol

With so much praise and appreciation doing something for reducing the petrol usage and the way Barina was presented --- the 150$ speeding fine didn't hurt so much.

PS. I did wear the AEVA shirt.....

hahaha "But officer, this is an electric car: it can't speed!"

I'm sure you could use that, at least for now until the Tesla is sold over here. :P
I'll drive an electric vehicle one day.

Caught speeding with EV

Hi Folks,

Just finished a productive and enjoyable visit to Goombi in Gympie. As a prospective EV converter of my Fiat X1/9 (see other posts) I have being reading the net widely and zeroed in on Goombi’s success with the Barina (96 volt with Chinese bits). The visit and drive in the car certainly confirms all that we have read in his posts.

The whole job is very well prepared and is a pleasure to behold. On the road it is extremely silent and smooth with reasonable acceleration. It appears to be the perfect town car.

He was happy to go through the entire conversion process and to provide points and words of wisdom about this conversion and offer advice to me on mine. The other projects (boat and truck) were there to see and discuss as well. A great and very informative day!

Eugen and his wife were also very hospitable in a general sense. Thanks to both.
