SC Magazine Trials the Vectrix

Post by Thalass »

I was looking for an old article on the SC website today, when I saw on the main page the link to an article on the Vectrix.

It's subscriber-only past the introduction, so I'll have to buy the DTF version of the mag at some point, but it's a step in the right direction for SC after their emissions articles earlier in the year!

Yes, I have read the article. The reviewer was a woos and droppped the bike putting it on a car trailer as he wasn't confident to ride it !
Good article though.

Leo Simpson is slowly eating his words form earlier this year.

Someone must have said that SC would be DINTW if it didn't get into EVs, cause one day all the valve jockies will be gone !

Haha, yeah. I was taught about thermionic valves, but outside the classroom I've never seen one!

And really, an EV is a perfect electronics nerdmobile, which is why I want one. :p

They cost around $15k which is comparable with a large motor bike.

I had a look at some at an expo on the weekend. I'd be interested in how the real world range turns out. The sales guy quoted 60-90km per charge. (The "maximum" range of 110km is at an unrealistic 40km/h.) He also said that if you cruise at freeway speeds, the range is "significantly" less - as expected I guess. They are nicely finished and look good in the flesh although at 200kg it's heavy for a scooter, more like a large motor bike.
