Meeting on April 1

Post by a4x4kiwi » Wed, 02 Apr 2008, 15:06

Hi all,

The meeting last night was a lot of fun. We first had a talk by Peter about his Holden Combo conversion that is now complete. He has done a nice conversion and the donor vehicle is well suited. I didn't know about the battery to vehicle weight ratio and that it should be > than 30%. This is very helpful in sizing my battery pack.

Thanks to those that brought your EVs along. They were fascinating to see. There were 4 EVs at the meeting we all took a look at.

There was a rodeo? ute that as newly registered, a Prius with a range extender pack, a kit car and Peters Combo.

It was good to see the ute there and encouraged me more to look harder for the Hilux extra-cab I need.

There were about 15 first timers in attendance. Mark, myself the www.converturcar.com.au couple and Les were there early enough to have some dinner beforehand.

I also handed out some slips of paper with the URL of this forum so any new form members, welcome!

Regards,
Mal.

I agree.
A fantastic night.
Peters talk on the Rodeo conversion was very inspirational.
And the EV show in the car park was great.
I'll have to remember to take the camera along to meetings in future
