Hi All,

I have just received a very surprising surprise today... Two EV stickers by post from VicRoads !!!
The accompanying letter is strait forward, "Dear Customer, Bla bla bla, it's been identified that you are the owner of a fully electric vehicle, bla bla bla. To assist emergency services... bla bla ...please affix the 2 enclosed blue diamond labels to your number plates. Yours sincerely, Tracee Piper, Principal Practice Advisor."

Wow! Didn't actually expect anything to happen after my email to Hyundai. Ye of little faith.

Interestingly (owning 3 EVs), I only received one set of stickers (for the Leaf). Nothing for the other 2. I wonder how accurate their records are... or were they were overwhelmed by so many EVs on their records that they had to send the sticker out in several batches? 😆

The new requirements are only for EVs built in 2019. Not sure if your other vehicles qualify?

The Leaf they sent them for is registered as a 2011 model. My 2019 Kona has not been sent any! BTW the Vic regs have actually applied for quite some time - I have been getting them made to the Vic reg specs (as in just like the ones they sent!) for about 7 years.
Cheers

I'm not sure how old this page on the VicRoads website is but it clearly says that the stickers are available from any VicRoads Customer Service Centres.
https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/registr ... n-discount
Surprisingly, the bottom of the page mentions a fee to receive the hybrid stickers but not the EV ones?
Who said there are no incentives to by full electric cars in Australia

And they never were available. (Till now :-) )
If pressed, VicRoads only ever supplied the Hybrid stickers. (Which were on my Kona when it was delivered!!??)
