Transit Connect water pump pinout?

Hey guys. Bought a couple coolant pumps from autobeyours.com (from the AD auctions). Just posting up here to find out if anyone knows the pin-out for the 4-pin connectors on the pumps. I assume the plug will be a ford part, will stop by a wrecking yard sometime and see if I can find one that matches.

If nobody knows the pin-out for these pins, I can take one of the pumps apart to find out. I'm assuming two are for power, and the other two are either tach, temp, or maybe both (with common ground). Shouldn't be too hard to tell which pins do what ones I have it apart, unless it's brushless and there's just a circuit board on the other side of the plastic.

Thanks.

Putting this here in-case anyone needs to know for future reference.

Pin out (1-4 left to right as shown in the picture, numbers are also located inside the housing).

Pin 1: Ground
Pin 2: N/C
Pin 3: PWM for pump speed. Pull high (12v) with 1k resistor for 100% all the time, or PWM around 1kHz seems to work well.
Pin 4: 12v Supply

This is a VERY quiet pump. Even running dry the only way I could tell it was running was due to the slight torque pulse when it started up. There's about a 3s delay after power is applied before it spins up, so don't give up if it doesn't start right away.

These pumps are a great value and will work very nicely for controller/motor cooling.

The connector is a Ford style plug. I'll bring the pump to a self-serve wrecker some time and see if I can find a matching socket, then I'll update this post to note which part it is.

Thanks for the info.

I have one on the way from the UK.

Do you have the AC pump and water heater?

Cheers,
Mal.

I don't have those, no. I was planning on using a Prius AC pump and reverse-cycle for heat.
