Any commercial EV suppliers in Australia?

Post by Herman328 »

Does anybody know if there are any companies in Australia supplying EVs on a commercial basis. I heard a few US EV suppliers have set up shops in Australia.

The Australian made Blade Electron (BEV) is a production EV using gliders supplied by Hyundai and covered by a 5 year Hyundai warranty and service with 10 years by BEV on battery components.

Smith Electric (commercial) have an agent in Australia.

Vectrix Australia is still in existence but idle due to the resolution of the Chapter 11.

Ateco Ltd is negotiating with various Chinese EV maker to import.

Ford, GM are about to release EV's with some Australian content.

Mitsubishi, and Nissan are both imported

Toyota produce a wide bodied Camry Hybrid in their Australian manufacturing facility.

In addition most of the speciality EV's are represented.

Zero is negotiating.

EV Industries is building a range of "to order' light commercial and specialist agricultural EV's. Ev industries also holds the right to several Korean and French/Italian EV technology.

I may have missed someone....

Don't think you got this one, but I didn't know about some of yours so there could be some cross pollination.

Mark, I think Herman was referring to mass production models, I believe he was using the term, commercial, meaning 'as a business', rather than the type of vehicle. The evme is not an actual 'for sale' EV. In fact it's really just a sort of vapourware scam, with a dubious website!

We have discussed evme, at leangth , elswhere on this forum.

Damn,

I have to say the website is impressive. I was actually holding off on showing it to the wife because I was afraid she would want one of their cars instead of me building one. It just goes to show - you can't believe everything you see on the internet.

Show it to your wife, anyway...

Then enjoy when she cannot find the "BUY" button!

Why not take her for a test drive in a Blade Electron? This is your own countries, home grown EV?
