Feel sorry for the owner, that's a 118TSI, the model that's known for engine failures.

Would it be an idea to locate charging bays away from the main car park? Such as the loading dock, kerbside around the shopping complex, etc. Just to set it further apart from regular parking spots.

How about traffic cones? I've seen that at a few public charging places, it might make a simple deterrent.

That goes against my understanding. Reecho stated in an earlier post that the only LEAFs built in the UK are the updated models. The documentation that came with mine say it was built in Japan in April 2012. We're speculating that Nissan is close to selling out the inventory of LEAFs in Australia. T...

eevblog, have you decided on a car yet? Someone just put up for sale a 2012 i-MiEV for $25k. It's up in Brisbane though: http://www.carsales.com.au/private/deta ... 8477/?Cr=1

They're golf ball brands I think, to go with the dents all over the LEAF. Funny enough I was just thinking about how to spend my long service leave next year and wondered if I could pull off an EV conversion on an MX-5. You guys might end up hearing more from me if it ever becomes more than just a h...

NSW iMiEV owners - meet and greet

I mailed Westfield Tuggerah about their BP quickcharger and when I suggested replacing it with L2 EVSEs they quickly lost interest. Glad there are better results with other malls. There's a ChargePoint at Macquarie Centre but you have to pay $10 for the valet service to use it. As for driving to She...

NSW iMiEV owners - meet and greet

When we had the LEAF meet we started off at the Westfield Hornsby car park where there are numerous 10A outlets on all levels. We charged over breakfast before setting off to Shelly Beach. We didn't ask for permission though. The Better Place quickcharger was out of order so we would have argued we ...

Probably so people won't do stupid things like plug the EVSE into a power board along with their microwave and fridge.

The car can draw 13A if it's available but the supplied EVSE only delivers around 10A.

The Volt EVSE is the cheapest and easiest option if you only need to charge at 10A. I have one mounted at home and use the Jaycar adapter at work with the supplied EVSE and both options work fine for me.

Hi Laura. I spotted my first i-MiEV in the wild earlier in the week heading west on Milperra Rd. Was that you? I think your EVSE is the same as the one in a LEAF, both are made by Panasonic. It has a 15A plug but only draws 10A so you should be able to buy one of these and charge anywhere on a 10A o...

Apologies for the dim photos at the Holiday Inn, my camera doesn't have a flash. I ought to return during the day. I asked reception about plugging in and they said I have to be a member of NRMA (I think they meant ChargePoint). There was also a bit of uncertainty about usage policy. They weren't ag...

It'll be a tough sell at my work, we're based in Smithfield and driving out to the city with a full load of freight will probably burn through a third of the battery already. I like the idea but it's too limited for our use. I still don't understand why they're not available with a rear row of seats...

Yeah she said it got hairy sometimes when trucks pull up behind her. It's not something intends to do again since Kloster Nissan in Newcastle can now service her LEAF. On a positive note, if she ever needed to she can use the Chargepoint at Speers Point to reduce the distance to around 121km and mak...

The longest distance driven by a LEAF in Australia probably belongs to an owner from Maitland who bought her LEAF in Artarmon and drove it home. She drove a steady 60km/h on the Pacific Highway and covered 151.8km with 14km remaining on the dash. She said it was harder going the other direction so s...

Looks like the Chargepoint at Speers Point is now green on the Chargepoint map. Even better, it's listed as a 30A J1772. Has anyone tried it out yet?
