Re: Amita Tech batteries.
They certainly looking interesting. Confusing that the 38ah and 44ah appear to share the same anode material but one is 2.5v and the other is 3.6v. Also no maximum current specs. that I can find - essential for EV use. They are the first contenders I've seen that would fit into my sub-pack cases to ...

Series/Parallel Switch Speed
Under normal accelerator setting the PHEV switches from series (generator mode) to parallel mode (ICE coupled to front wheels) at about 70 km/h. This is fine for normal driving - but, I mostly tow with the PHEV. It has plenty not power but NOT plenty of energy. I drive out of the driveway towing abo...

Re: quick question about temporary(test) batteries in an EV
The lower voltage may be an issue for either the motor controller or the DC-DC (if fitted). If you google the controller you should be able to get some specs. for it which should include minimum voltage for operation. You will very quickly kill any standard 12v batteries but if you don't care about ...

Does anyone know what brand and size steel rim tassiem used as his spare. We will be towing our Avan to Alice Springs next year and a spare is in order I think.

The most reasonable assumption I can think of is that turtle mode is invoked if any cell hits a low voltage threshold.

Re: Prelude conversion project - some questions
It's my understanding that Tesla runs the battery heat control system even when the vehicle is off. I have found that the amount of time that the battery pack sits in an over temperature environment while the vehicle is not in use (parked) WAY exceeds any time when it is in use. So, IMO, if your are...

Thanks Terry. Understood about the diode - I've followed most of your posts on panels over the years.

Re: Solar Panel output: Rating versus Reality
Thanks Terry. We will be getting a couple of 80 watt semi flexible panels to mount on the yacht hatches this summer and I've been wondering how to not-cook them. I need enough power to support 24ah each day (fridge) and one may be shaded by a sail a lot of the time. Bunnies sell a product similar to...

Re: RETROFIT SOUND GENERATOR FOR EV?
I am so tired of people walking behind a reversing car. It doesn't matter what I'm driving they insist on ignoring the reversing lights. Same with opening drivers doors with oncoming traffic. Just stupid!

Re: gholm's Morris J2 Van- 1966
Again, good to hear that the van is mostly well. I get lots of spider webs and at a car showy thing a year or so ago that I spontaneously attended (didn't wash car) someone commented I didn't drive it much (yeah, just every day). I looked down where they were looking and the grill was laced with web...

Wow. Let's trot out the "tall poppies" drivel because some snake oil salesfolk want to make money off ignorance. Real shame the Vic government fell for that BS.
Nice touch giving us a history lesson though.

From that I'd take the 240 to mean 24 and no following zeros. Next is why did it burn out. Might the bypass (main) contractor be faulty?

I suggest you secure the services of a customs agent. They must hit this problem often.
