Re: Bought a cheap BMS ... but what have I been given?

Thanks for that.
Will give all that a go.

Got no documentation with it unfortunately... And email request for tech support/documentation only got a request back for the product number (even though its in the order...) and nothing further! :/

Cheers,
Tim

Re: Bought a cheap BMS ... but what have I been given?

I'm an idiot... I wrote the above from memory, rather than having it infront of me... there are 2 black wires (the first of each connector), but the rest still holds true.... they aren't common, and the pinout labels on the PCB are sequential in numbers from 0 to 17... :( Anyway.... Now having secon...

Re: Bought a cheap BMS ... but what have I been given?

Thanks.. There are definitely 18 wires, (17 red and 1 black which is common to b-... None of the reds are common to each other, or directly connected to either b+ or b-) I shall try working my way up and check voltage differences as I go. :? (and do a current test when I tie the last two leads to b+...

Re: PHEV Loss of Km Range with Battery.

I suspect I might be in this boat too. Our 14/15 PHEV is often struggling to get 40kms, when I could regularly eek 50+ out of it when we first got it just over 3 years ago. (new) I feel I have to do a few more tests (and triple check things like tyre pressures with each test) before collecting my pi...

Bought a cheap BMS ... but what have I been given?

Hi all. I am rebuilding a cheap scooter with 4x 4S Li packs (to make a 60v/16s) and took a gamble & purchased a few "no-name" BMS off banggood.com to join them together. https://www.banggood.com/5pcs-60V-16S-45A-Li-ion-Lithium-Battery-Protection-Board-BMS-PCB-System-p-1345268.html?rmmds=search&cur_w...

Re: YAEBU! (Yet Another Emax Battery Upgrade) project

Would it be better/doable to buy the packs for salvaging the cells, rip out the BMS and install a different BMS with a new configuration?

Re: YAEBU! (Yet Another Emax Battery Upgrade) project

Hmm.... At first I was thinking of using similar packs of 48volts in parallel, (that came paired with their own chargers) but I couldn't find any that could guarantee the current required... When I found these that had the right current supply, I thought it would be easy to bump the voltage to 60......

YAEBU! (Yet Another Emax Battery Upgrade) project

Hi All. Have been an EV lurker for a while and popped in to the occasional EV meeting or event, but most of my EV plans and projects have taken a back seat until now. A little while ago, I acquired an eMax "sport" scooter - sans batteries. Fingers crossed this is a largely uneventful process of buyi...

xphread's scooter conversion

Well... its been a few years on the todo list, but I have finally got around to starting this project. This is really just a tester project. (as I'm not the biggest fan of scooters, mainly because I dont like the feeling of not being able to hold on with my knees.) My aim is to create an Electric mo...
