Just last night. Fairly good news actually. Some of the dust that's accreted on the terminal tops was conductive, cleaned it off and all was well. The battery case was fine. Time to redo some of the battery box seal tape methinks. The other cell that had warped slightly was due to slight pressure fr...

Im not sure what problems you are referring to exactly (ponders post threads for a second). I have had some degradation of acceleration over time. Largely this has been fixed by cleaning the connections. This fault was discovered while I was taking it apart to clean each individual battery terminal ...

Interesting experiment that may have failed. The thundersky 90's that I put horizontally in the front box seem to have failed in some regard. One cell has a terminal that is definitely warping. Another cell is shorting to the bike frame even when unconnected (I am assuming that the cell must have sp...

Lithium Sulfur Batteries

@ Terry
LYP = Lithium Yttrium Phosphate
You will also see LFeYP = Lithium Iron Yttrium Phosphate.

Apparently the Yttrium stabilises the molecules of LFP.

Sorry
1.5 cents/km

damn them sneaky decimal places.

Our power is 20.9c/kwh plus about 4.5c/kwh for natural power. Add a little inefficiency in the charging system and that makes up the extra.

Test rides have been delayed due to work and the fact that every time I have had time to work on it there has been rain. So work has gone into more waterproofing than testing :(

Tyre circumference: 1.82m
Gear ratio: 36 tooth to ten tooth or 3.6 (no gear change mechanism)

No regen, I just dont think the added complexity would be worth the extra range on a simple DC setup. Im running out of room already :).

Oh, and my charging system now works. Thank you Mr Dilkes.

Does anyone know anything about the EMC scooter batteries? They claim to be silicon based but this does not really provide any information about their chemistry. http://www.emcaustralia.com.au/?q=faq/batteries I do think its funny that one of their selling points is that they function at 6000m under...
