Re: For Sale: Mazda RX7 unfinished project
Thanks for the views. Thanks for the peoples looking and interested in buying. This vehicle is now sold and on its way to the new owner. Although it grieves me not to finish this project, my thoughts and hopes are with the new owner. Nothing sexier than an RX7!

I'll check the motor curves. At a guess 350-400A should be okay with a 500A fuse. Thanks

For discrimination purposes I'm looking at a circuit breaker for overload protection and fuse for short circuit protection. My main problem is to quantify my normal working current range, add a bit so I don't get nuicance tripping and that will be my circuit breaker amp rating with the fuse a bit mo...

Yup 500 amps would be good. I'm also trying to find fuses as a back up of about 600 amps.
Thanks

I'm going through the motions of looking for a cuircuit breaker. Can anyone suggest a suitable circuit breaker for a 144v Warp 9 motor?

Thanks Ian, I've bookmarked that page. Having a 9" motor and a gearbox I'll wait it out. Lots of luck on the prototype.

Ian, what is the update on the Zeva controller? Are you still developing it or are you busy with other stuff (I know you're a busy guy)? I'm interested as I'm due to purchase a controller shortly .... but I can hang off for a wee bit.

Sorta know what you mean since I work in the mining sector which is in a tail spin. The dream is there but on hold, we have to do what we have to do. Hope it works out.... eventually.

An enthusiast group sounds like a good idea. While the forums are full of info I'd like to see how some put their cars together.

Thanks for the feedback. Still tossing up what it is I want to display, just thought that by going microprossesor route I could add stuff in the future. Picaxe easy to work with .... excellent.

I'm looking at ways to have a read out for amps and volts. I could look at Link-10 or Paktrakr but has anybody done any work with PicAxe processors? I've only had cursory experience with programming but PicAxe appears fairly straight forward and can have room later to program other inputs or outputs...

Keep going with the controller Ian. I suspect that there are more than a few out there waiting for your Australian designed and made controller. I know I am as I want more than a Curtiss but less than a Zilla.

Any RX7 conversions out there?
Smooth looking car. My series one has no power steering or electric windows. You will have a bit of a wait for the Zilla (half your luck!). I'm keeping my gearbox but going clutchless, the coupling is in the engineers now and when I get that back I'll get them to start on the adapter plate. I've rec...

I believe that there are a few EV'rs in Qld particulary in Brisbane. We don't have a living branch here but this is my question. Do we have enough interested people to start a branch? Even if there is not enough to formulate a branch of AEVA or perhaps, feel a bit individual, then at least have a gr...

Any RX7 conversions out there?
Have started converting an RX7 and I'm wondering if anybody has done one or doing one. Mines a series 1 so series 1-3 are similar. I'm using a Warp 9 via clutchless gearbox, 160Ah LFP 144V.
