Drag racing - have you got what it takes

Claudio is the new 2nd Fastest EV Drag racer in OZ! 2nd only on ETs. And everyone knows ETs don't matter... it's all about the quarter mile trap speed http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley36.gif Claudio did 18.47 at 118.99 Kph And 18.24 in another run. I had high hopes for the last run of the ni...

The real solution to the base load issue as I see it is to interconnect the grid all over Australia (and eventually all over the world). Even NZ. It is always sunny or blowing or waves or tides or rain somewhere. Definitely. We're in good company when R. Buckminster Fuller saw things the same way: ...

Perhaps an argument could be made by using the government's renewable energy and clean coal targets to provide a forecast of EV emissions into the future? Ha! Very cheeky, but hard to argue with: "I'm only using the government's own targets" http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley36.gif I love it.

You would be suprised what may or may not qualify. Fo example one of our products is a fleet management tracking system. <snip> This would then save fuel etc. This wouldn't surprise me if it qualified. If this is a system that is: * new to the applicant (they were quite specific that the Fund only ...

Who cares that coal creates more emissions. Well, I imagine that the Innovation Australia committee who will be responsible for judging Green Car Innovation Fund applications will probably care... The primary objective of the Fund is to encourage investment in technologies that can demonstrate a ma...

Take heart gentlemen, and ladies. Here in sunny WA we only use coal for around 50% of power production. The rest is natural gas and renewables. And what about Tassie? they have hydro and lots of it. I've used these figures in my submission. Coal isn't the only source of fuel for power stations. You...

Ok, I've been yesterday to the Brisbane session. Here are my thoughts: Sounds like a replay of the Sydney session. http://forums.aeva.asn.au/smileys/smiley1.gif 1) This is not for the very small company or individual that has little money behind him/her. The usual ratio is 1:3 (1 government grant d...

I just saw that Zilla are no longer/there is a shut down in manufacturing there controllers... Ahh damn! Hopefully there will be some good news about this soon... You still have the same controller? and which BMS system? Still using the Zilla. For BMS, I'm using the TS90 system from EV Power.

Hi all, As some of you know, and have been waiting for updates on, our EV (EV Album) has been off the road for a few months while undergoing a re-conversion to 144V/160Ah of TS LFPs from the original set of tired old T-875 floodies (120V/170Ah). Was (finally) able to perform the commissioning charge...

FWIW, here's James May's puff-piece on the FCX that followed.

drag is related to the square root of the velocity being travelled. So as speed goes up, the power goes up exponentially. You meant square of the velocity, right? Just to clarify, (aerodynamic) drag force is related to the square of the velocity - double the V means 4 times the force. But power is ...

I thought the 60kg spinning disk would have been a put off alone. Likewise. Not to mention any gyroscopic forces with it! Imagine your car goes up hill then for no appent reason flips on its side! Just reading the thread now wondering if someone was going to bring this up... The gyroscopic precessi...

My pleasure Striker.

Nice to meet a few new faces, and hope to see you all again at the next meeting.
