Re: Blade Mk VI Motor?

I thought that looked familiar, that would be my car, it's not from being for sale, but from my Shannons club garage page here https://www.shannons.com.au/club/enthusiasts/mjcrow/garage/2011-blade-electron-mk-vi/photos/ . Looks a bit different at the moment, the motor is out whilst a new coupler is ...

Re: EV Importing, Urgent Help, advice or recommendations please

I think Johnny has the right idea, customs agents know all the ins and outs. If however you are clutching at straws, there is allowance in the act for importing vehicles for the purpose of racing/support vehicles that cannot be registered or driven/ridden on the road. Re: New Blade Electron owner

Hi Tim, It sounds like there is a chance the tritium isn't getting the canbus messages. You said the fault led used to flash, is it now solid or not illuminated at all. The "flash" codes are:- Reporting of errors is primarily achieved by the red LED on the end of the Tritium Controller, which is rep...

Re: New Blade Electron owner

Hi Tim, Have you checked all the soldered connections that go on the back of the plug mounted to the side of the box? Soldered joints in an automotive application are always a problem, they should have used crimped connections. When was the last time you saw an OEM with soldered connections? There's...

Re: New Blade Electron owner

Hi Tim, I can't help out much with wiring diagrams, I would find them pretty helpful too. Most of the issues I am fighting in mine seem to centre around the connections to the tritium controller which acts as a "middle man" between the VCU/MCU and the BMS. It's in the stainless steel box attached to...

Re: New Blade Electron owner

Hi Tim, That is a such a bummer, all that work.... My Mk6 is proving to be a difficult beast as well, it does seem sometimes 2 steps forward and one step back. I don't know what you paid for the cells you used, and I don't know what capacity the original batteries in your pack still hold, but the 26...

Re: 20kW+ Motor wanted..

Depending on the application, the electric rear motor in some Toyota/Lexus hybrids (part # Q211) is approximately 50kW peak, is air cooled and has an integrated differential. You should be able to buy one locally from a wrecker from a Lexus RX400h. Even if from a high mileage vehicle it should be in...

I use the vxdiag vcx nano for my volt, they also make one for toyota, they are a proper passthrough tool, so with the correct software they will allow ecu programming. They can also have their firmware upgraded. They go for around $100 AUD. Just my 2c

4wd ev

Hi Drewdk, Do you need the ability to do hardcore 4wd work, or something that can do light 4wd (ie, dirt roads but not bush bashing). Mitsubishi make a plug-in version of the Outlander (PHEV) which offers awd and should comfortably do most of your daily commute in EV mode, but can do the longer trip...

I made it out to the track to watch the morning session and was extremely impressed with the performance of these bikes, WOW ARE THEY FAST! iMiEV - What to do with a write off

Hi PiMan, The first question is what type of write-off is it, is it a statutory write-off or a repairable write-off. This will make a difference to the value. Assuming it is a statutory write off, which means it cannot be re-registered, and therefore is a parts only vehicle, the main value will inde...
