Accommodation and Transport for AEVA 2014 Annual General Meeting and EV Festival

The Venue in Coburg is about 10Km from the Central City

For those wishing to stay in Central Melbourne the city boasts over a hundred quality hotels.

Public transport options from the City to the Coburg Venue are:

Trains on the Upfield Line to Coburg station, from there it is a 200 metre walk on Bell St across Sydney Rd. Trains run every 20-30 minutes.

The Number 19 Tram from Flinders St up Sydney Rd to the Bell St intersection, this trip will take much longer than the Train. To travel on Melbourne Public Transport you need to purchase a Myki card for $6 and put fare money on it, touch on, on Trams and on and off on Trains, each full fare trip is about $3. Purchase at major train stations or 7-eleven.  A Visitor pack is available which provides a card plus $8 fare and discount coupons for $14. From the PTV shop at Southern Cross Station.

Skybus runs from the Airport to Southern Cross Station on Spencer St.

Rydges Bell City, 215 Bell St Preston, this is a quality hotel with a variety of rooms and facilities on site. From $170 a night 1 bedroom.  03 94851000 www.bellcity.com,au

At the same address is a ‘Sleep and Go’ budget accommodation. This is very cheap accommodation catering to student types, from $60 share, but you get what you pay for. Shares facilities with Rydges

 

In the same area is the Bell Motor Inn, 2 Patterson St Preston.  03 94802099 www.bellmotorinn.com.au  Which offers rural style accommodation in a more private setting.

From these locations on Bell St it is about a ten minute drive west to the Venue in Coburg.

There is also a number 513 bus that runs down Bell St to Sydney Rd every half an hour until nine pm.

Closer to Coburg is the Coburg Motor Inn on 726 Sydney Rd 03 93501850  www.coburgmotorinn.com.au    This is a standard quality Motel  (3 star)  This location is nearly walking distance to the Venue (1 Km)

The Concert Hall that is the Venue for the AGM is part Moreland City Council Buildings that are accessed from Urquhart St. At the back of Town Hall that fronts on to Bell St. It will be necessary to go down the Street next to the Town Hall to arrive at your destination. Parking is also at the back.
