JOINING

Q:  What methods are available for joining the AEVA?
A:    - Online (PayPal): via this link
        - At a Branch Meeting - The Branch Secretary or Treasurer should have membership forms available.
        - Print Membership Form, fill it out and take it to your branch meeting with your payment.
        - Print Membership Form, fill it out and mail in with your cheque (made out to "AEVA Inc") / money order to: AEVA Inc, PO Box 434, Park Holme, SA 5043.         
        - Other methods of payment are available, eg. bank deposit - contact the Membership Secretary.
 
Q: Is it correct that as from July 1, 2014 all future memberships will be date based and not linked to the financial year?
A: Yes, You can join anytime through the year and receive a full years membership. All new membership renewal dates will be a year after joining.
     This is also known as Rolling Membership.
     Please note, that renewing "Expired" memberships, also fall into this category .   
     For continuing membership with a joining date prior to July 1, 2014 the renewal date will be July 1 of the next year, after renewing.

 

RENEWING

Q: I would like to renew my membership with the AEVA, how do I go about it?
A:  There are many ways to do this. I will describe them all below.  

        - ON-LINE using your credit card (PayPal) -
          You need to be logged in. Do that here if not logged in: www.aeva.asn.au/user
               Then you can renew your membership online (PayPal)  here once you are logged in.
               If you have forgotten your Username, try your email address as your Username.             
               If you have forgotten your password - when you go to the LOGIN page, there is an option at the top to “Request new password”.
               If you still have problems please contact the Membership Secretary using this online form.
               Do not try to create a new login yourself. Your current login can be fixed.
 
        - At a Branch Meeting - The Branch Secretary or Treasurer should have membership forms available.
           Cash or cheque payment.
        - Print Membership Form, fill it out and take it to your branch meeting with your payment. Tick the Renewal box.
              Cash or cheque payment.
        - Print Membership Form, fill it out (Tick the Renewal box) put it with your cheque / money order made out to: AEVA Inc
           
and post to: AEVA Inc, PO Box 434, Park Holme, SA 5043.              
        - Other methods of payment are available, eg. bank deposit - contact the Membership Secretary using this online form
 
          Please see the second question/answer under JOINING for your renewal date information.
 
 

PASSWORD

Q: I have forgotten my password - How do I fix that?
A: When you go to the LOGIN page, there is an option at the top to “Request new password”.
    If you have forgotten your Username, try your email address as your Username.
    If you still have problems please contact the Membership Secretary using this online form.   
    Do not try and create a new login yourself. Your current login can be fixed.

Q: If I have problems with my membership, how do I contact someone to get it fixed?
A: You can contact Membership using this online form
    Please put as much information about your problem or concern on this form with your contact details.

Q: When I try and join, I can't get past a CAPTCHA entry - why is this?
A:  
This shouldn't happen if the correct procedure is followed immediately below.

Q: What is the correct Joining Procedure?
A: Please follow these steps...

1) Please go to the Membership signup form: http://www.aeva.asn.au/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=1

2) Enter you contact email address (If you forget your Username, this can be used to LOG IN in the future).

3) Enter a Username of your choice (This is used to LOG IN next time).

4) Enter a Password of at least 8 characters and then Confirm it.

5) Click on the "PayPal" button to go to the PayPal site to pay, either with your PayPal account or credit card.

6) Once the payment has been made, you will be returned to a screen which has a "Make Contribution" button. Click (touch) this.

7) You should now receive the PayPal receipt (this goes to the payee).

8)  A Membership details email (Including Membership Number) will arrive later. (This is done manually at the moment)    

               If using this procedure for renewals - make sure you LOG IN prior to doing so.
               Once you LOG IN, your details will appear on the form - you just have to click the PayPal button and follow from step 6) above.

MISC

Q: I have a Corporate Membership with the AEVA - what does that entitle me to?
A: - Members of your corporation/business are entitled to attend AEVA general meetings as they desire under the one
       Corporate Membership, without additional payment.
    - Also the Corporate Member may request approval for inserting a free advertising banner/button on the
       AEVA website or in the AEVA Newsletter. All graphics/logos must be supplied by the Corporate Member.
   - The regular AEVA Newsletter will be sent to the nominated representative of the Corporate member.
 
Q: What methods of payment can I use with my membership application?
A: PayPal is the preferred payment system. You don't have to join Paypal to use their service,
    you just need an approved credit card.
    Other methods of payment include Cheque, money order and Bank Deposit. Please contact the Membership Secretary.
    Note: When making a Bank Deposit payment, please email the transaction receipt to the Membership Secretary:

    You can also make payment for Membership Application and Renewals at your local AEVA branch meeting

Q: Is my Credit Card information safe when I use PayPal?
A:  Yes, it is safe to use your credit card via PayPal. No credit card or other financial information passes through,
     nor is stored in any way on the AEVA web site - you conduct your transaction with PayPal and they tell us if it succeeds.
 
Q: What about my privacy?
A: As part of the normal process of maintaining a community membership organisation, AEVA collects and
    stores certain information about members. AEVA endeavors to keep this information private.  
    It does not reveal or provide it outside the organisation in any way - ever.  
 
Q: What will my email address be used for?
A: The AEVA respects your privacy and does not supply/sell email addresses to a third party.
    You will receive the regular AEVA newsletter and any other important notices relevant to your AEVA membership or electric vehicles.
    You can ask to Opt Out from receiving messages of any kind - if you like.
 
Q: On the On-Line form it asks for an email address. Is this my contact email address or my PayPal email
    address (which is different)?

A: Please use your normal contact email address here. You will be asked to enter an email address during the Paypal section.
    This may be the same as your contact email or (in your case) a special one that you always use for PayPal.
 
Q: I don't have an email address, can I still apply online for a login/membership?
A: No, not online, an email address is essential for joining online but membership can be arranged for you. Please  write to:
    AEVA Membership Secretary, PO Box 434, Park Holme, SA 5043  and we will arrange your membership by posting you a
    membership form, if you cannot download one ( Membership Form).
    Alternatively, contact Membership using this online form.  
    Note: for the email address field on the contact form, use:  none@aeva.com   as this field is mandatory.
     
Q:  I don't like using the web for logins etc. Can I do it another way?
A:  Yes, see the next FAQ...
 
Q: Can I simply post my subscription to you?
A: Yes, just download the Membership Form, fill it out and post it to the address at the top of the form, together with your cheque.
    Please make the cheque / money order payable to: AEVA Inc.
    You can even request a form be posted to you. Write to: AEVA Membership, PO Box 434, Park Holme, SA 5043
    and a membership form will be sent to you.

      

AEVA FORUM LOGIN

Q. I seem to be having trouble logging in to the AEVA website with my Forum login details.
A. Please note that, at the moment, the login to the AEVA Forum ( http://forums.aeva.asn.au/ ) is not linked to the AEVA website.
    The login to the AEVA website is completely separate to the AEVA Forum login.
    There is a requirement to be an AEVA member to be able to access to certain parts of the forum eg. For Sale.
    AEVA members' Forum Profile will need to be adjusted to access these areas. The Membership Secretary can make these adjustments for you.       Just let us know your AEVA Forum Username and the profile Group setting will be changed to "AEVA Member".
 
 

Known Problems Challenges with the Membership System

Q: I just paid for my membership, but didn't get an immediate receipt. What's happening?
A: Due to a minor problem with the Membership System, some transactions are not being completed automatically.
    These have to be manually monitored and completed, and then an email receipt is issued. Sorry for the inconvenience. (May 2016)  
    
Q: I put my home phone number and my mobile number in, as requested, but only one shows up - duplicated in my User Record
    and receipts. What has happened here?  

A: We have found that this is happening throughout the system - you are not alone.
    This problem has been reported and a fix will be implemented as soon as possible.
    The Membership Secretary has found a work-around which seems to fix individual cases.
    If you would like your User Record fixed, in this regard, just contact the Membership Secretary and it will be fixed for you.
 
Q: When I joined, I didn't get my Membership Confirmation / Receipt immediately. Why?
A:  There is currently a problem with the Memberships not going to the Completed stage in the system, and this process has to be
      performed manually by the Membership Secretary.
      We will try and complete the process and issue the receipt within 24hrs.
      
If you find an inconsistency within the Membership System, that is not listed above, please let the Membership Secretary know.
