Count me in too

I wholeheartedly agree that an electric go-kart league of some sort would be fantastic publicity for the EV movement, and a great arena for showcasing and advancement of EV technology.

PS: I look forward to the day when we've got our electric karts sorted to the point where we can pit them head to head against the petrol burners!

Hi all, new here but would be interested in coming along. Got a VW beetle project at the mo but I'd be happy to help with a Kart project. What date in Nov for the meeting? I'm also FIFO like Juk so it all depends on when I'm back.

Cheers Dicko

hmm... December 7th is no good for me. I've got another car club event on that weekend. January might work out better if everyone's busy in the month leading up to christmas.

I'm really looking forward to it though

I'll put the money aside for January, though it depends on my work shift.

As for building a kart... That'd be awesome, though I think starting my full-sized conversion should be the priority. That way I'll be able to drive to the race in an EV, then race an EV kart!

(And while I'm daydreaming, lets figure out a way to re-create Mario Kart! Hovercraft-missiles shaped like turtle shells that shut your controller down for a few seconds upon impact! haahaha)
I'll drive an electric vehicle one day.

Not in WA but thinking of building one of these anyway now that i have to hand the electric SAE racer back. Be interested in what you come up with and if u develop some kind of base rules for there development.

Can i make one suggestiong that car controllers with soft start is crap for racing, when racing you are happy to shorten the lift of items in order to gain speed. We struggeled with take off speed but had plenty once moving.
