If you are in WA you will need to fill in this DPI form BEFORE you start your eV conversion:

Are you certain ?
Is this new / overriding NCOP14 and the EV specific form in it ? This form has zip to do with an EV ??? I thought our EV conversion contact was.. Department for Planning and Infrastructure Welshpool Licensing Centre Vehicle Safety Branch 21 Murray Rd South Welshpool WA 6106. |

Actually NCOP14 refers to this form in the first paragraph.
The eV conversion contact is the same place. NCOP14 is the guideline for eV conversion and has a final checklist where as the form I gave a link to is the permission to allow you to make it an eV in the first place. I will ring them on monday to see if they would only accept NCOP14. |

I rang the DPI today (Technical section).
Unfortunately after many attempts at different times during the day I have not got to speak to anyone. I rang the head office and they confirmed I was ringing the corret number. Maybe tomorrow.... |

I got hold of the DPI today.
Asked what I needed to fill out for an eV conversion. Answer: you need the form I gave a link to at the top of the page. You need to get approval BEFORE you start. NCOP14 is the guidlines you must build it to before it will pass. The checklist in NCOP14 is what you use at the time of inspection. |

Done.
I've never written 'not applicable' so many times on a form before ! |

Yeah it will be N/A for most of it.
Just bureaucratic red tape. |

Update.
I spoke to DPI last week and they were in the middle of processing my form. The indication I got was I would expect a response letter in the next couple of days.

So, is there a list of engineers who can advise/do the sign off?
