EV Works is sponsoring WAs first "ELECTRAKHANA".

The date is Saturday Dec 12th from 4pm - 8pm
Venue is the RAC driving centre:
http://dtec.com.au/

Admission is free for the public and EV owners/builders are invited to come and demonstrate their vehicles around the track. A track layout will be available in due course. The track will be made up on one of the skid pans at the site.

Please contact us if you would like to bring your vehicle so we can prepare a list of participants.

There is a grassed area for displaying vehicles and a covered area. Volunteers will be doing a sausage sizzle to raise funds for WAEVA.

All welcome. Admission/participation is free.
Regards, Rod Dilkes

As well as AEVA members, we hope the event can raise awareness of EVs among the general public too, so if you'd like a few flyers to give out to your friends or post at local notice boards, PM me your mailing address and I'll pop some in the post.

Just a couple of updates to clarify things..

1) Anyone's welcome to bring their EV down to display, but please contact us if you are interested to take your vehicle out on the track. (The purpose of the event is to demonstrate road-going EVs to the public so they'll be getting priority. Vehicles don't have to be road-registered but they must be road-worthy i.e safe.)

2) The RAC driving centre is an alcohol free venue (since booze and cars don't mix!)

(Forgot to mention the gallery in this thread as well)

Hi all,

So Electrokhana was on yesterday - what a great afternoon! Was a lot of fun taking EVs around the racetrack, and many of the attendees got the chance to either drive or ride in an EV for the first time, so hopefully it's been effective in raising awareness and building some excitement about EVs. I'm pleased to report we had no EV casualties, and should have dispelled any performance myths about EVs thanks to a bit of tire smoke and sideways action from some of the quicker vehicles!

Here are some pictures from the event for anyone who missed it:

I think it's a pretty safe bet that we'll run it again next year - get your EVs ready, Perth!
